Product Description
Moderate temperatures during the 2000 growing season, coupled with the increasing maturity of the vineyard, created a superior Red Mountain Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. The shallow calcium carbonate-rich soils of Red Mountain and low crop levels (less than three tons per acre) produced fruit with exceptional depth and concentration of flavors. Creative water management, coupled with closely monitored stress levels in the vineyard, extended the growing season and provided the grapes with additional hang time on the vines. As a result, ripe flavors and dark colors in the fruit distinguishes this rich, well-balanced wine. The name Terra Blanca, Latin for white earth, is named for the high calcium carbonate content that whitens soils of our Red Mountain vineyard and helps produce the incredible depth and structure in the grapes. The first grapes were harvested from our estate vineyard in 1997
